Citizens Medical Center Volunteer and Pastoral Care Auxiliary meet
Citizens Medical Center Volunteer and Pastoral Care Auxiliary met Aug. 8 in Citizens Medical Hospital center classroom. The meeting and luncheon honored junior.
President Patricia Bruchmiller introduced and welcomed new volunteer member Gloria Ludlow.
Committee reports were a $700 donation for the CMC Walk for Hope will be made to purchase participant T-shirts, pink balloons and two hope afghans for door prizes.
The junior volunteers and their guests received special recognition from Glenda Gibbs, Manager of Volunteer Services. Each junior volunteer received a certificate stating the hours served and a movie pass for their service in various areas at CMC. The participants accumulated a total of 1,026 hours during the summer months.
The 67th annual Texas Association of Healthcare Volunteer convention was hosted in San Antonio on June 3-5. Auxiliary members attending were Dorothy Bohn, Marge Rode, Vera Young, Betty Migura, Emily Knebel, Darlene McDonald, Susan Shaw and Rose Robles. Glenda Gibbs, manager of volunteer services, also attended. Vera Young, historian, entered the scrapbook competition and received third-place honors. Dorothy Bohn, state board member, gave a report for the TAHV gift and memorials. The 2014 TAHV convention will be in Galveston.
A TAHV District 3 meeting, hosted by Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville/Harlingen, will be at South Padre Island on Sept. 24. Volunteer attendance registrations are currently being accepted at the volunteer desk.
The next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 11.
