St. Mary's Altar Society hosts meeting
St. Mary's Altar Society met Sept. 9 at the Activity Center, 401 S. Liberty St.
President Al Bomba called the meeting to order with 39 members present.
A prayer was given for the sick, and member Adeline Hermes was reported to be at home.
Retreat Chairwoman Lorraine Hebert reminded the society of the half day retreat. The Rev. Patrick Knippenburg is the retreat master.
The society will host its quarterly bunco party at 9 a.m. Oct. 15. It will be at the activity center.
Karen Allums and Evelyn Dierlam volunteered to chair the Altar Society cake wheel for the church festival Feb. 9.
Hostesses for the meeting were Adele Donalson, Fred Kloesel and Dolores Tyng.
Dorothy Bomba announced that the coffee and donut socials will begin Oct. 16 after the 8 a.m. Mass. Bomba was also the door prize winner.
The annual Harvest Bazaar is scheduled for Nov. 16 at the activity center. Any church member is welcome to come to the sewing room Mondays and Thursdays to help finish items for the bazaar.
After the meeting, there was a benediction, and the group adjourned for a social hour.
