Receipts: 1,694

Had 201 cows and 19 bulls. The packer market was a little weaker as seasonal runs up north of here have continued. Also this time of the year, demand is a little weaker. The combination of these two factors weakens the packer market.

The calf market was a solid across the board with light and midweight calves being up $1 to $3. Plainer type calves gain a lot of the ground that had been lost the last few weeks. Good demand for all classes with a lot of activity.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $88-$96; lower grades, $70-$80.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$75; boning cows, $65-$82; canners and cutters, $80-$86; light and weak, $48-$60.

Palpated dry cows (23 bred cows): $90-$110; pairs (6): $950-$1,250.

Compared to last week: The market was a little stronger this week on the better quality classes. Improved demand saw mostly better kinds $1 to $3 higher. Plainer types were a little weaker.
