Mike Osterson and Gary Hatter Jr. traded strikes in their respective leagues to tie for the high weekly scoring honors.

Osterson did his scoring in the Thursday Night Sundowners League, when he scored individual games of 235, 256, and 267 for a 758 series.

He had only one open frame, which came in the first frame of the first game, and ended with 25 strikes in the three games.

After scoring a career high 804 series last week in Sundowner competition, Hatter Jr. followed this week with another great set in the Friday Nite Trio League.

He bowled games of 252, 257, and 249 for his 758 series.

Gary did not have an open frame in the three games and contributed 26 strikes in his series.

Randy Vivero posted the third high total while competing in the Sugar & Spice League. He rolled games of 256, 235, and 257 for a 748 set.

Steve Zeplin also broke the 700 mark with a 268 high game contributing towards a 737 series.

Other great scores by the men were Tom Crowe (250-690/272), Glen Pitts (256-684), Glenn Mason (257-679), Rick Kalmus (254-679), Mike Stacy (257-675), Steve Dickinson (675), Todd Pfuhl (269-671), Harold Bellinger Jr. (258-668), Kevin Stacy (257-667), Don Marques (252-667), Danny Reissig (662), Shawn Miller (659), Eric Smith (658), Mike Wortham (247-655), Jacob Silgero (650), Kenny Schupbach (649).

Olivia Jackson posted the high women's score while competing in the Sugar & Spice League.

She rolled a 209 high game on her way to a 601 series.

Joanna McNary bowled a very nice 233 high game and 578 series for second high.

Christine Speer with a 577 and Trudy Wortham with a 576 were other nice sets for the women.

With the start of another year of the Over The Hill League, as you might have guessed it is a league for senior bowlers, we regret that Betty and Arnold Scheffer are no longer bowling in Victoria. They have moved out of town and we wish them well.

Betty and Arnold had been member for 10 years and Arnold served as league secretary for three years.

However a bowler who returned for another year of bowling is Nelda Matchett.

Nelda got her start in bowling in mixed leagues with husband Tommie in1962 but dropped out of league competition in 1965, after Tommie could not bowl due to back problems.

After not bowing for 41 years, Nelda started bowling again seven years ago and still enjoys the competition and friendly bantering in a couple of leagues.

With a friendly smile and a hug for everyone, she says that she will bowl as long as she is able.
