Catholic Daughters of America hold meeting
The Catholic Daughters of America, Court No. 2665, met at Holy Family Catholic Church recently with Regent JoAnn Bleier presiding. LeAnn Welder from Habitat for Humanity was introduced by Bleier to explain and answer questions regarding the Women Built house, which is now being constructed at Swan Crossing. A number of members have volunteered to help, and the court will also provide a lunch for the workers.
Kathy Kickendahl introduced the guest speaker, Janet Jones, from Perpetual Help Home. The home provides supportive housing for women and children in need. Members brought household items for the home.
Cheryl Olsovsky, spiritual enhancement chairwoman, reported that there will be a spiritual rosary said at the next meeting. Faye Schlein, chairwoman for Catholic Daughters of America, asked members to RSVP for the Oct. 20 brunch after the 11 a.m. Mass.
A country store and craft sale will be Nov. 23-24 in St. Peter's Hall at Holy Family Catholic Church. Members will provide baked goods and other gift items for the fundraiser.
Claudia Sheblak displayed the prayer blankets her committee has made in the last month.
Father Dan Morales spoke for the good of the order and Bleier adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Peter's Hall at Holy Family.
