AARP Tax-Aide in Victoria and Yoakum is recruiting volunteers to help residents prepare and file their federal income tax returns February through April 2014.

Volunteers are also needed to greet people, translate for non-English speakers, maintain computers and make sure things run smoothly at local tax preparation sites.

Volunteers will receive free classroom and online training, manuals and software to become skilled in tax preparation. Volunteers need not be AARP members or retirees to participate in the Tax-Aide program.

Taxpayers of all ages and incomes levels are welcome to use Tax-Aide to file their tax returns. Special attention will be given to senior citizens and shut-ins.

For more information or to volunteer, call Grace Faulkner at 361-570-6397.
