Victoria woman selected to carry banner at Texas A&M graduation

Abbey Janssen graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University, College Station with a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics. Janssen was selected by her professors to be gonfalonier, bearer of a gonfalon banner, for the School of Science and Mathematics during the graduation ceremony on Aug. 15. She is the daughter of Rebecca McCarty, of San Marcos, and Dr. David and Sheri Janssen, of Victoria; and sibling of Dr. Bryan Janssen, of Victoria; Katie Guerra, of San Antonio; and Molly Hewell, of Austin.
