Man hit by SUV on Navarro (w/video)

Victoria emergency workers load a 56-year-old man into an ambulance after he was struck by a northbound vehicle  at the corner of East Airline Road and North Navarro Street.The man was transported to Detar Hospital Navarro with what officials referred to as "non-life threatening injuries."

A 56-year-old man was transported to a hospital late Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle.

Bruce Landon was walking across the street against a red light on East Airline Road toward CVS when he was struck by a northbound Ford Explorer, police officials said.

Landon was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro with what officials referred to as non-life threatening injuries. He was treated for a leg injury. Just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, a supervisor at the hospital said he was being treated in the emergency room and was in guarded condition.

Jacob Coronado, 18, was the driver of the Explorer, which also had three passengers. None were injured.

The Victoria Police Department is investigating the wreck.
