Tejano superstars will descend upon DeLeon Plaza on Saturday for more than just a party - it's a fiesta.

Fiesta Victoria is hosted by La Camara de Comercio, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and will mix family fun with several headlining artists, including David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Los Palominos and Fama, just to name a few, said Rick Villa, one of the event's chairmen.

"It's for everyone," he said. "We were wanting to do a celebration."

The event is the nonprofit's largest fundraiser, Villa said.

In its first year, the fiesta is expected to draw between 3,000 and 5,000 people, Villa said. The event will offer plenty of booths, selling everything from foods to crafts, he said.

Perhaps the event's most anticipated event is the menudo cook-off, he added.

Menudo is a well-known soup in the Hispanic culture made with tripe, hominy and a red chili pepper broth.

Moon jumps and bounce houses will be available for the kids.

Other musical acts include The Robert Charles Band, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, La Presion, the Victoria school district mariachi group and ballet folklorico.

"It's a little bit of country and a little bit Tejano," said Mario Garcia, committee chairman. "There's something for everybody."
