A Port Lavaca man, whom officers suspect robbed a convenience store, was arrested Wednesday.

Matthew Lozano, whose age was not available, was pulled over for a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Maxwell Ditch and Farm-to-Market Road 1090 just after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Lozano attempted to impair police by providing a fictitious name, Calhoun County Sheriff George Aleman said, but after further investigation, deputies were able to identify him.

Lozano is being held in lieu of a $70,000 bond at the Calhoun County Jail.
