Goliad Commissioners Court special meeting
• WHEN: 1 p.m. Thursday
• WHERE: Commissioners Courtroom at the County Courthouse, 127 North Courthouse Square, Goliad
Goliad County Commissioners will hold a special meeting Thursday to discuss the job performance of the EMS administrator.
Medical directors Drs. Claire Zengerle and Mark Heard are expected to make a presentation discussing administrator Peggy Fonseca's job performance.
The meeting stems from a letter sent by Zengerle and Heard to the commissioners, county judge and county attorney stating Fonseca was not doing her job properly and has jeopardized Goliad County's medical license and the licenses of Zengerle and Heard, said Ted Long, Precinct 4 county commissioner.
"I really don't have an opinion on this yet, but I think it desperately needs to discussed," Long said.
The agenda for the meeting includes an action item, which would allow the commissioners to terminate Fonseca if they decide the move is necessary, Long said.
Zengerle and Heard did not return calls Tuesday.
Peggy Fonseca said she was advised by her attorney not to comment.
