CUERO

April 11

Receipts: 696

Had 137 cows and 18 bulls. The packer market was steady with last week's market. The packer market has been mixed all week.

The calf market was active on all classes in line with last week's market. The only weakness was in new crop calves carrying too much flesh. Any thin cattle continue to sell at record levels. Some of the heavier calves more than 700 pounds were a little lower. That, with the new crop discounts, made the market seem lower when in fact it was very strong on all quality classes.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$83; boning cows, $65-$89; canners and cutters, $82-$106; light and weak, $38-$50.
