Victoria County United Way has received approval for the organization to be included in the 2014 State Employee Charitable Campaign.
"The inclusion in the SECC charitable campaign is gratifying; it is an annual review process for charities to be included in the state campaign," said Clifford Grimes, executive director. "It is important for us to maintain high standards of accountability, and this is part of the process to confirm that our operations are transparent and meet SECC standards for participation."
Texas created the campaign so employees of state agencies, junior and community colleges and universities throughout Texas could give to their favorite charities through an annual workplace giving campaign, which features the convenience of payroll deduction.
Victoria County United Way's mission is to understand what it means to be a community - to help every individual realize their potential, to help families grow and prosper, to allow our seniors to live vibrant lives and to help individuals who are struggling to rebuild their lives.

The campaign is the only statutorily authorized workplace campaign for employees of state agencies and higher education institutions throughout Texas. In 2013, the campaign marked its 20th year by raising more than $9.041 million for charitable organizations throughout the state, nation and world. Visit us at secctexas.org for more information.
