A silver 2005 Hyundai Sonata is prepared for towing after it was rear-ended by a maroon 2007 Nissan Frontier pickup truck at the intersection of Loop 463 and North Main Street in Victoria. James Salazar, 25, was driving the four-door Hyundai with Arissy Salazar, 27, Brielle Salazar, 5, Analayah Salazar, 8 months, and Aiden Arcee, 6, inside when it was struck by the Nissan driven by Joe Dahlstrom, 70. James Salazar, Brielle Salazar, Analayah Salazar and Aiden Arcee were transported to DeTar Hospital in Victoria following the wreck.

Four people were transported after the vehicle they were traveling in was rear-ended Friday afternoon.

James Salazar, 25, of Victoria, was stopped at a red light at the intersection of North Main Street and Loop 463 when his vehicle was rear-ended, said Victoria police officer Robert Swanson.

Salazar and three children - Aiden Arce, 6; Analayah Salazar, 8 months; and Brielle Salazar, 5 - were transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro.

Salazar's wife, Arissy, 27, was uninjured.

The wreck happened about 1:55 p.m., when Victoria resident Joe Dahlstrom, 70, was driving north on North Main Street in a maroon 2007 Nissan Frontier and failed to reduce his speed, Swanson said.

Dahlstrom was shown at fault, though he was not cited for failing to reduce his speed, Swanson said.

"It was an accident," he said.
