Services are being planned at Faith Family Church next week to honor Army Spc. Kerry Danyluk, who died Tuesday of injuries suffered in combat in Afghanistan.
Pastor Eli Sauceda said the church plans to host the service Friday, but the time and date are not confirmed.
Enemy forces attacked the 27-year-old Cuero man's unit with small arms fire April 12 in Pul-e-Alam, Logar province, Afghanistan, according to the press release. The 10th Mountain Division soldier with 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team was injured during the attack.
Danyluk is survived by his mother and father.
