Wharton player wins girls regional tennis title

CORPUS CHRISTI - Wharton's Holli Reynolds won the Region IV-3A girls singles title Thursday at the H-E-B Tennis Center.

Reynolds began the tournament with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Anna Remlinger of Smithville before taking a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Emma Weber of La Vernia in the quarterfinals.

Reynolds captured a 7-5, 6-3 win over Hannah Bouble of Fredericksburg in the semifinals.

Reynolds earned the championship with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Allison McLain of Rockport-Fulton in the final.

Reynolds advances to the state tournament April 28 at Texas A&M in College Station.
