Alexandra Marlow, a junior at St. Joseph High School, won first place in the Catholic Daughters of the America's No. 369 essay contest. The theme for her essay is "How do I promote peace in the world?" She wrote in part, "I believe that peace can be promoted through the good actions of others, and I believe that I can promote peace by doing a good action for someone every day." She recently received her award at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The essay will be entered into the state competition.
