STJ students win UHV, VC math competition

A team of four St. Joseph High School students recently won first place in the  Game Show Competition at the University of Houston-Victoria College Math and Computer Science Contest. The math competition team, from left, is David Du, Johanna Hoang, Hira Malik and Olivia Creager. Their final score was 840 points, with the second-place team scoring 390 points. David also won first place in the senior division of the math contest. There were more than 200 students from 15 high schools in the Coast Bend Region participating in the contest.
