Victoria school district students who want to test out of a course or grade level can do so this summer.

Under the state's education law, public school students in grades 6 through 12 can obtain credit in a course or grade level by passing tests approved by the school district's trustees.

Students can test out of a course without previous instruction in the course(s) being tested. To earn credit for a grade or a subject, the student must answer 80 percent of the questions correctly.

Registration applications may be picked up from VISD campuses or can be found online at visd.com beginning May 1. Deadline for registration is May 29.

For more information, call a VISD campus counselor or the Victoria ISD Assessment Office at 361-788-9306.
