Wildflower photo contest showcases spring's true colors
Nonnie knows which flower is prettiest: the bluebonnet.
Mindy De La Rosa’s photo of her 1-year-old daughter Quinn’s cat, Nonnie, won the wildflower photo contest.
“He is a country cat,” said De La Rosa, who lives in Sweet Home with her family. “I take a lot of pictures. We had a whole pasture full of wildflowers.”
The De La Rosa family won two Cinemark movie tickets.
All the photos we received made us glad that the days of constant cold fronts and frigid rain are a thing of the past now.
The photos captured the beauty of a Texas spring - the green grass, the bright wildflowers filling the hill country - they all remind us why spring is the time for renewal.
For our next contest, we are going back indoors. We want you to send your prom photos - whether they are from 2014 or 1980, we want to see them.
The person who submits the best photo, as judged by our readers, wins two movie tickets.
To compete, submit your photos here by 5 p.m. May 16. Be sure to tell us who is in the photo, when it was taken and what high school you attend or attended.
