Editor, the Advocate:
I am writing to support the re-election campaign of our current county judge, David Bowman.
I believe that David has done an excellent job serving Goliad County in a number of ways. He has worked hard with our commissioner's court to reduce the cost of county government and to keep our county taxes low. David has led the way in reducing the cost of our Juvenile Probation Program and our indigent health care obligations.
David has been a strong supporter of our county library in maintaining the library building and the programs our library offers to the public. Many of our Winter Texans and other visitors have commented on what a jewel our local library is compared to those of other small towns.
I have known David Bowman for most of my life, beginning when we both attended Goliad High School in the early '60s. I know him to be a man of integrity who is fair in his dealings with others, thoughtful when it comes to handling county issues and conservative in his efforts to keep county expenditures and taxes at a reasonable level.
I hope you will join me in supporting the re-election of David Bowman as Goliad County judge.
William "Bill" Barnhill, Goliad
