More than 400 Victoria Electric Cooperative customers are without power because of lightning, said Brittany Marsh, the company's communication specialist.

About 3:35 p.m., 1,302 customers served by the Vanderbilt Lone Tree and Loop 463 substations lost power.

Power was restored to those served by the Loop 463 substation - 874 customers - but crews are still working to repair the Vanderbilt Lone Tree substation, she said.

To report an outage, call the Victoria Electric Cooperative's office at 361-573-2428 or the outage hotline at 361-582-5555.
