Deep water wells going dry

Editor, the Advocate:
A water well service came to our home Aug. 14 in the area near Nursery to get our well back in service. They inquired as to the depth of our well. It is 70 feet deep and has had good water in the past.
As they worked with it, it quickly became apparent that there was no water. They have worked with several wells around Nursery and Inez areas, and they told me the public needs to be informed of the fact that because of the ongoing drought, wells that are 60 to 70 feet deep are going dry or have gone dry, as in our case. Some folks have had to go to the expense of digging new wells.
