A three-bedroom mobile home in the 100 block of Bobby Lane caught fire about 8 p.m. Sunday.
No one was injured in the fire, Capt. Boyd Staloch with the Port Lavaca Fire Department said Monday. The fire appears to have started in a bedroom, he said. The exact cause is still under investigation.
About 50 percent of the home, located about six miles north of Port Lavaca, sustained fire damage and heavy smoke damaged the rest of the structure. The fire was contained in about 30 minutes, Staloch said. The Six-Mile Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the fire.
The local chapter of the American Red Cross was called to assist the family. The names of the occupants were not immediately available.
