Scout earns Eagle award with service project

Steven Wendel of Troop 157 received his Eagle Scout Award, Aug. 17, at a ceremony held at 1 p.m. at St. Pius X Youth Center in Corpus Christi. The Eagle Scout Award is the highest award in the scouting program.  Steven constructed a wheelchair ramp for a hospice patient and his elderly wife for his Eagle project.  This project was done through a non-profit organization, Barn of the Angels.   Steven is a student at Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus Christi. He is the son of Randy and Angela Wendel.  Steven is the grandson of Halley and Jane Wendel of Victoria, Paula Hanselman formerly of Victoria and the late Paul Hanselman Jr.
