A Cuero man was hospitalized after a fiery wreck on U.S. Highway 59 Business at Amhurst Street on Wednesday night.
George Crim Croft, 20, was north on U.S. Highway 59 Business at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday in a 2004 silver Dodge pickup.
He ran off the road on the right, went over a culvert and became airborne, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Gerald Bryant.
The Dodge landed on its grill, and Croft had to be removed. The vehicle caught fire after he was removed from the vehicle, Bryant said.
Croft was taken to Citizens Medical Center with minor injuries.
Hospital spokeswoman Shannon Spree said Thursday afternoon that Croft was treated and released.
Croft was given citations for driving at an unsafe speed and not wearing his seatbelt.
Trooper James Vinson investigated the crash.
He was assisted by Trooper Ruben San Miguel, the Victoria County Sheriff's Office and area fire departments and emergency medical services.
