VC's Calhoun County Center offers Medical Assisting course

Registration and orientation for Victoria College's Medical Assisting Course will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at VC's Calhoun County Center, Room 22. Classes will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 9 through Nov. 11 in the same location.

VC's Calhoun County Center is at 900 N. Virginia St. in Port Lavaca.

The introductory Medical Assisting course is designed to develop basic knowledge and skills necessary to function safely and effectively in a medical office/clinical environment. Clinical experience will be assigned in area medical clinics.

A medical assistant can earn $17,000 a year up to $34,000 annually in the Crossroads.

This is a noncredit course that does not apply toward a credit degree, credit certification or academic transfer. For more information, call 361-582-2412.
