Hustle and attitude attracted Rene Garcia to the Seattle Seahawks three years ago.
Garcia, 44, started following the Seahawks after growing an admiration for the young team.
But he knows there is skepticism about the team's youth.
"A lot of people are expecting Denver to walk all over Seattle," Garcia said. "They may be young, but they have a strong defense; they made it to the Super Bowl for a reason."
Donned in his Seahawks jersey and cap, the Victoria native said he plans to have a Super Bowl viewing party inside his elaborate man cave at home.
"I'm going to watch it with my cousins and some friends," Garcia said. "We're going to try to make different types of snacks and meatball sliders."
Garcia has been watching the Super Bowl each year since he was 6 years old.
If the Seahawks come out winning, Garcia said, he'd probably tell his doubting friends, "I told you so."
"Because defense is what wins games," Garcia said. "Don't underestimate Seattle."
