Thank you for supporting homeless coalition
Editor, the Advocate:
The Victoria Areas Homeless Coalition extends thanks to all who donated their time and resources for the Day of Care at First United Methodist Church. The event targeted the homeless and those at risk for being homeless. We are grateful to FUMC cooks, donations from H-E-B and Starbucks for breakfast and sandwiches prepared by Trinity Episcopal Church.
Participants were helped by: Texas Veterans Commission, Gulf Bend, AHEC East, Mid-Coast Family Services, 211, Food Bank and Restoration House Ministries.
Registered Nurses and nursing students provided care. Showers were available with towels donated by Citizens Medical Center. Totes of Love and People of Hope Church provided more than 200 personal care bags. Texas Made Fades and Victoria Beauty College donated haircuts. We would also like to thank Victoria Transit for assistance rides to the event.
Thank you to all who made a difference in the lives of more than 125 men, women and children who attended.
