What you may or may not have known about black history in the Crossroads

Ferguson's Pharmacy in Victoria had one of the first sit-ins in 1955. The pharmacy was at Airline Road and Laurent Street, and the sit-in was organized by the NAACP.

The sit-in went off without any major incidents. The sit-in took place the same day Dorothy Hobbs became the first black student to register for classes at Victoria College.
