Decora Study Club holds meeting
Lt. Chris Garcia was introduced by Pam Fitch, program chairman of the day, at a recent Decora Club Meeting. Guest speaker Garcia informed members of his background and credentials leading to the program topic Understanding The Gang Activity In The Crossroads. Garcia opened the floor to questions following his presentation.
Dr. Martha Jones, president, welcomed members. Jones also reminded everyone of the Korean War Veterans parade. She encouraged everyone to wear red Feb. 7 for National Wear Red Day and to also wear red to the Tuesday Decora meeting, which is Guest Day and collection for M.D. Anderson.
Helen Grant led the collect, Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag, Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas flag and The American's Creed.
Historian Jane Cox reported the General Federation of Women's Clubs was instrumental in opening libraries in the 1930s
Hostesses were Margaret Vaughan and Davanna West. The membership committee was Zada Watkins and Dr. Ruth Constant. The social committee consisted of Kathy Ahlstrom, Sally Barnes and Anne Dohmen, along with co-chairwomen Mary Ann Wright and Anne Roddy.
