Cuero woman, 26, dies in one-vehicle wreck

Cuero police are investigating the cause of a fatal one-vehicle wreck that occurred Friday morning near downtown.

Sophia Ann Hernandez, 26, of Cuero, was ejected from her 1998 Jeep Cherokee at the intersection of North Terrell and West Live Oak streets.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after 4 a.m. Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Bill Robinson pronounced her dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation shows that speed may have been a contributing factor, according to a news release from the police department.
