A woman was arrested and another was transported to a hospital Saturday after a vehicle crashed into a home in the 500 block of Kingwood Drive.

Amy Madigan, 40, of Victoria, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

At 5 p.m., Victoria Police officers responded to an emergency call in which a 39-year-old Victoria woman was struck by a vehicle.

The woman, Susan Dorsett, was trapped under the car and later rushed to DeTar Hospital Navarro with a broken leg, cuts on a foot and thigh and injuries to one of her knees and an arm, according to an officer's arrest report. Dorsett was in serious condition at DeTar.

At the scene, a red Toyota Camry was just barely inside the two-story brick home with the remnants of a large mailbox in its wake and debris and glass from the wreck littering the entryway.

The incident remains under investigation.
