•  "She's the real deal, great glove, tons of power and a natural leader," Casarez said about Jordan Jones.

•  "A blue-collar mentality that is as scrappy as they come," he said of Brittney Berger.

YOAKUM

•  Mascot: Lady Bulldogs

•  "I am excited about the upcoming year, these girls have worked hard from the end of last season until now," he said.

•  "The girls have taken an awesome attitude into practice thus far, and most of the seniors have emphasized to the younger girls that we are only concerned with the next game or the next practice," he said.

•  "I think our flexibility and being able to have interchangeable parts could be huge for us this year," he said.

REFUGIO

•  "I think it will be difficult to replace the seniors that graduated last year," she said. "We have a lot of talent already in the program, though, and incoming in the freshmen."

•  "I see the underclassmen stepping up to the challenge; I don't see any reason to not be playoff bound at the end of the season."

WEIMAR

•  Won the District 28-1A state championship in 2013; ranked first in Class 1A preseason poll

•  "I have several freshman who will be challenging my players from last year's team," he said. "I only lost my second base and shortstop, but they were both great players."

•  "Our district will be very tough again," he said.
