Amy Madigan, 40, a kindergarten teacher accused of running over a 39-year-old Victoria woman with a car Saturday, has resigned.
Madigan, a teacher at Chandler Elementary School, submitted a letter of resignation to the school district Monday, said Diane Boyett, VISD communications director.
Her position is being filled by a substitute in the classroom, and a permanent replacement will be found as quickly as possible, she said.
"It is our intention to have a highly qualified, permanent teacher in the classroom as soon as possible," Boyett said.
