• JUNIORS: Kiersten Reed, Jasmene Porter, John Garcia

• SOPHOMORE: Elizabeth Neitch

• SENIORS: Tristen Longoria, Danielle Perez

• JUNIORS: Brianna Gobel, Nathaniel Barris

Victoria West and Beeville hope to claim several state wrestling titles this weekend.

West will send nine wrestlers to Garland while Beeville will send four.

Kerry Iannazzo, VISD wrestling coach, will head to his second straight state wrestling meet. Last year, Iannazzo brought six wrestlers. However, none of them won a medal.

"The kids earned it," Iannazzo said. "Medaling at state is a special thing. That's why you wrestle all year long."

Beeville coach Terry Foster is in his 15th straight year heading to the state wrestling tournament. Rogelio Salazar won state as a senior last year for Beeville.

"That's always our goal: Just make it to the second day," Foster said. "This is the tournament you work for. You have to come with your A-game."
