Oceans For Emotions: My one true love
"... God is love." - 1 John 4:8
Here at this Valentine's time, it is easy to think about love. Just today, a Valentine's balloon with love written on it, hit me in the head as it got loose from the young boy in front of me.
This week, as I read The Victoria Advocate, I saw ads for heart-shaped jewelry, red roses, chocolate-covered strawberries, heart-shaped boxes filled with candies, teddy bears adorned with red ribbon decorated with hearts, little boxes of heart candies with love messages on them and Valentine cards that sing love songs.
Today, as I turned at the sign that said Magnolia Beach, I got a very familiar feeling. This is the feeling I used to get in high school when I unexpectedly saw my boyfriend walking down the hall toward me. My heart would beat faster. I would grin a silly grin, and anyone could tell that we really loved each other.
Each time I first set my eyes on the sea, I get this same flippy-floppy feeling, and I know I have met the God who made the seas, and I feel He did this just for me.
Dear Lord, thank You for giving me the time to take my rod holder out and make the shape of a heart in the sand. This is my way of telling the beach, the sea and my God I love them.
