Thumbs-up, thumbs-down; it's your choice
Thumbs-up to the Warrior's Weekend project and all those who worked so tirelessly to make the Korean War veterans' parade and luncheon a success.
Thanks to my fellow veterans for their service.
Thumbs-up to the Victoria County Sheriff's Department. Some starving animals were discovered north of Victoria on Sunday. On Monday, I called the sheriff. Ten minutes later, I called Animal Control. My message to the sheriff's department had already been relayed to Animal Control with instructions to view and investigate the very sad problem. We now have a system in place.
Thumbs-up and compliments to the best salad bar, in my opinion, located at The Corral on the Houston Highway. The selections are fresh and varied, also offering soup and Jell-o-type desserts.
Thumbs-down to bad TV programming. I am a great fan of "Jeopardy!" but tired of it being repeated, the same show the very next day. This happened again Feb. 7 as well as in the past. It is currently on channel 9 with Suddenlink, which is not the best station but the only one available - it goes black for a few minutes but then comes back on. On channel 5, KENS, it shows for five minutes then switches to infomercials. But thumbs down.
Thumbs-down to Victoria's Channel 25 and the Victoria Television News Group for not covering the Korean War veterans' parade. Veterans and Victorians deserve better.
