Early voting to begin Tuesday
Polls for early voting open Tuesday for the Republican and Democratic primaries.
The primary election determines which candidates are on the ballot for the Nov. 4 general election, but voters are only allowed to vote in one party during a primary or primary runoff election.
Voters may cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 28 at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St.
Extended early voting hours are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28.
People wanting to wait for election day to vote in the primary may cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4.
This is the first election in which the county will use vote centers, which allow voters to cast their ballots at any polling location in the county on election day.
