Early voting began Tuesday for the March 4 primaries.

In the Republican primary, 138 people voted in person, and 1,308 ballots have been mailed, according to a news release from the Victoria County Elections Office.

In the Democratic primary, 40 people voted in person, and 343 ballots have been mailed.

Victoria County has 50,579 registered voters.

Early voting in person continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Feb. 28 at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St., in Classroom A. Enter the facility through the center doors.

Extended hours for early voting in person are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 and 28.
