Yorktown residents lose power temporarily

A lost transmission signal from the Lower Colorado River Authority caused power in Yorktown to go out about 7 p.m. Wednesday, said AEP spokesman Elgin Janssen.

Technicians worked to fix the problem in Yorktown, Janssen said, and power was restored about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday night.

Janssen said the company is unsure why the transmission system lost service to the electric company.

No major incidents were reported during the outage, a representative with the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office said.

The transition system in Yorktown is owned by the Lower Colorado River Authority.
