At this time of the year, when fellow Texans are seeking to hold various positions in government - whether local, statewide or national - we owe it to ourselves and to our neighbors to educate and mobilize voters.
We know our inalienable rights come from our creator and that government exists to secure and protect those rights. Therefore, we must become informed about those who seek to be our elected leaders. We must speak up, educate our fellow citizens and make our voices heard at the polls.
The Victoria County GOP is hosting the Lincoln-Reagan Dinner on Friday at Spring Creek Event Center to give Victorians and surrounding county voters an opportunity to hear Attorney General Greg Abbott, candidate for governor, speak about his plans for Texas.
The evening will include a delicious meal and a chance to visit with federal, state and local candidates whose names are on the upcoming election ballot. This event will provide an entertaining way to become educated about those seeking public office.
Tickets and table sponsorships are available at victoriagop.com. All are invited to attend Friday to become better informed about our choices at the poll. May God bless our upcoming elections and make us always faithful citizens as we exercise our duty to vote.
