Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrates anniversary

The Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America women of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrated their 130th anniversary with a luncheon and entertainment on Feb. 15.

The purpose of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America members is to come together for study, to offer support to each other, and to participate in the ministry within and beyond our congregation. We cook, sew and visit members and others.

Barbara Stubbs, co-president, opened with welcoming members, guest, council members, ministers and members of the band Jammin 4 Jesus. Officers for the 2014 year, special committee and past presidents were also recognized.

Jo Ann Yeary, co-president, gave a reading on "Love Can Change the World."

A Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America banner designed by Barbara Zimmerman, Colette Kaiser and Wanda Buchhorn, was displayed. The stand was made by Steve Zimmerman. The banner is to be presented to the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Bluebonnet Conference in March.

Jammin 4 Jesus band entertained with a program of love songs beginning with "What the World Needs Now." Other love songs followed.

The celebration was closed with a prayer.
