Barbara Jacob has retired from the Cuero Library after more than 20 years of service. Jacob went to work at the library in March 1992. Before joining the library staff, she worked for five years at the Meyersville School. Jacob said that the highlight of her job was working with the children at the library and helping customers with research. She has been married to her husband, Darwin, for 44 years and has three children and seven grandchildren. Now that she is retired, she is planning to travel, spend more time with her grandchildren, garden and read. A party was given in honor of her retirement Thursday. City Manager Raymie Zella presented her with a watch, and she also received gifts from the DeWitt Shutterbug Club, the Cuero Library Board, Keep Cuero Beautiful organization and individuals.
