Victoria College offers new physical therapy aide course

To help students gain entry-level skills in patient care, Victoria College is offering a new physical therapy aide course.
This course prepares students on how to provide patient care and assistance for the physical therapist or physical therapist's assistant. It teaches the application of basic patient handling, functional skills, communication and selected data collection techniques. Included will be transfer, bed mobility, ambulation and use of assistive devices.
Registration and orientation is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 4 in VC's Health Sciences Center, Room 229. Classes will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 18 to May 8 in HSC Room 229.
Admission requirements include:• Validation of immunizations
• Health care provider CPR certification
• Individual Department of Public Safety background check
Students must wear an approved student uniform to class. Upon successful completion of the course, 64 continuing education units are awarded.
