5 percent of voters cast ballots in primary early voting
A little more than 5 percent of the 50,579 registered voters in Victoria County have cast a ballot in early voting for the Republican and Democratic party primaries.
So far, 4.3 percent have voted in the Republican primary and 1.1 percent in the Democratic primary. Voting has either been in person or by mail ballot.
Through Monday, 807 have voted in person, and 1,371 ballots have been mailed in the GOP primary, and 171 have voted in person and 374 by mail in the Democratic primary, according to a news release from the Victoria County Election Administrator's Office.
Early voting in person continues from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Friday at the Dr. Pattie Dodson Public Health Center, 2805 N. Navarro St. in Classroom A. Enter the facility through the center doors.
Extended hours for early voting in person are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
The primary is March 4.
