Warrant roundup begins March 1
Law enforcement officers are gearing up to target the more than 5,000 active municipal court warrants in the Crossroads during a 9-day warrant roundup.
The Great Texas Warrant Roundup begins March 1.
"Affected persons are urged to contact the (police department) to dispose of their cases voluntarily to avoid the inconvenience and embarrassment of an arrest at home or work," said Chris Guerra, Victoria Police Department spokesman.
Enforcement efforts needed for the warrant roundup are funded through the Municipal Court and also supplemented by the police department's allotted overtime budget, Guerra said.
Victoria County Sheriff's Office and other surrounding counties will assist.
