Editor, the Advocate:

I find myself compelled to write a response to a news report in which Ted Nugent referred to President Obama as a "subhuman mongrel." Any self-respecting and respectful person should absolutely not tolerate such unacceptable rhetoric directed at the leader of our nation, and we as a society should shame such virulent hate-mongers off the public stage. We would do much better as a nation if we would all learn to be respectful even when we disagree.

To make matters worse, Mr. Nugent spoke these words while on the campaign trail with a Republican candidate for Texas governor, Greg Abbott. That tells me all I need to know about Mr. Abbott as an individual and speaks volumes to the kind of governor he would be. You know what they say - you are the company that you keep. Put me down for Wendy Davis!
