Editor, the Advocate:

There have been several letters to the editor recently encouraging the incumbent county judge's re-election to a fourth term.

Many of these letters go as far as praising the "stable tax rate" and how the incumbent has been "keeping taxes low." It seems that some people are living in a different reality than everyone else in Victoria County.

The truth is, phrases like "stable tax rate" are just political doublespeak designed to mask the tax increases we've all seen. If you are anything like me, you dread opening your mailbox when it's time for the annual notice of appraisal increases, which turn out to be de facto tax increases due to the "stable tax rate" some people praise. Since when did tax increases become a welcomed new norm? I, for one, don't believe this is acceptable. The incumbent county judge has done little to stop these tax increases, and it's time for us to fight back the only way we can - with our vote.

Ben Zeller is a true fiscal conservative who will make cutting taxes one of his main priorities, and I trust him to follow through. Please vote Ben Zeller in the Republican primary.
