Editor, the Advocate:

I'm writing this letter for my Girl Scout project, "How will you improve your world?''

For my project, I would like to reduce littering by asking people to pick up at least one piece of trash each day.

If everyone would pick up one piece of trash a day, think of how it would help improve our world. I would just like you to make a small section about littering, how it affects one's ecosystem and how it could change it.

Littering is not something you should ignore. It can cause pollution, and it costs money to try to prevent littering and to help clean litter up.

Littering also affects our waterways. It pollutes the water that marine animals live in.

Think how you can make a difference. Thank you for listening and considering my request.
